He was a proud grandfather to Trey, Darla, Alex, and Gavin, and a doting great-grandfather to Amber and Claire. His family remembers him as a loving and caring father who consistently went out of his way to lend a helping hand and improve the lives of those around him. After completing his education at San Francisco State University, James answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. Stationed at the historic Presidio in San Francisco, he was honored to be part of a newly formed elite basketball team for the U.S. Army. His dedication to excellence and teamwork was evident throughout his military service. Professionally, James was a skilled mechanical engineer, dedicating most of his life to his craft. His precision and problem-solving skills were unmatched, and his willingness to help others made him a trusted colleague and friend. A true sports enthusiast, James found great joy in supporting his beloved San Francisco Giants and 49ers. However, his heart truly belonged to the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, and he cheered for them passionately year after year. James Baxter's legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering support for his family and friends. As we say our final farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our hearts.
